School horses are available for all lesson clients, and we provide helmets for your first lesson. No experience, no horse, no equipment — no problem.

Lessons
Private, semi-private, and group lessons for riders of all ages and experience levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or a competitive athlete, our EC/NCCP Certified Coach will design a program tailored to your goals.
Disciplines include Hunter, Jumper, Dressage, Working Equitation, Equitation, Western Dressage, General English and Western, Groundwork, and Stable Management.
School horses are available for all lesson clients. Helmets are provided for your first lesson, and loaner equipment is available in the lesson locker.
Training
Professional training for horses at every stage — from starting young horses under saddle to advancing experienced horses through the levels. Our approach is rooted in classical principles and adapted to each horse's temperament and ability.
Whether your horse needs foundation work, tune-ups before show season, or a consistent training program, Cointreau Stables provides expert care and communication every step of the way.

Camps
Our summer camps offer young riders an immersive equestrian experience in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Campers learn riding skills, stable management, horse care, and the values of teamwork and responsibility.
Camps are designed for all levels and run throughout the summer months. It's the perfect way for kids to discover their love of horses — or deepen a passion that's already there.

Boarding
Full-care boarding at a well-maintained facility with a heated indoor riding arena, outdoor arena, and daily turnout. Your horse will receive attentive, consistent care in a safe and organized barn environment.
Boarders have access to all facility amenities including the indoor and outdoor arenas, and the on-site tack store. Lessons and training packages are available for boarders as well.

Every May, students can test for Equestrian Canada Rider Levels 1–8, including written, ridden, and stable management components.

Head Coach

Ashley Bishop is an Equestrian Canada / NCCP Certified Competition Coach and EC Certified Instructor of Beginners based out of Cointreau Stables near Daysland, Alberta. With an exceptional breadth of experience spanning multiple disciplines, international competition, and coach development, Ashley brings a rare combination of elite horsemanship and dedicated mentorship to every rider she works with.
Ashley spent her formative years competing in Hunter/Jumpers on the A circuit, earning multiple championships before expanding her competitive focus. After having children, she transitioned to dressage full time and has since risen to the FEI level, competing internationally on her Grand Prix horse. Her most recent highlight was winning Reserve Supreme Champion at the Andalusian World Cup in Las Vegas — a premier world-class event drawing top competitors internationally. Ashley is also an internationally ranked Working Equitation competitor, having placed 4th in the world at her level.
Beyond competing, Ashley is deeply committed to the development of coaches and riders at every stage. She serves as a Coach Mentor, EC Rider Level Evaluator, and Green Certificate Evaluator — roles that place her at the forefront of equestrian education in Canada. She is a Rookie Rider Facilitator and holds licences as both a Provincial Hunter Judge and a Working Equitation Judge. Ashley also holds a Bachelor of Business Management and a Community Service Learning Certificate from the University of Alberta. Her dedication has been recognized with a Coach of the Year Award, and her students compete and excel at prestigious venues including Spruce Meadows and Alberta Dressage Provincials.
